Glowing Elegance: Unveiling the Allure of Rutilated Quartz

Rutilated quartz can be truly mesmerizing as a gemstone. It is renowned for its extremely unique visual appeal as a variety of quartz which contains slender, red, golden, silver, or copper-colored needle-like inclusions of an oxide mineral composed of titanium dioxide. These needle inclusions of titanium dioxide are often referred to as "rutiles," and can create a stunning and ethereal landscape within a well cut gemstone that resemble delicate strands of hair or threads of silk.

The example here is one of the latest designs from the Studio that feature a particularly rare red rutilated quartz. The 55 carat stone displayed in "Santa Baby 2023" is also unique in that it includes a bit of copper rutiles, making this particular gem a beautiful specimen. The interplay of light and the intricate pattern formed by these copper inclusions give these gems a very distinct and enchanting quality and make each a one-of-a-kind.

Rutilated Quartz is a favored choice among designers and enthusiasts alike, and we love to feature this stone in our designs due to both the aesthetic allure and the sense of depth and dimension it brings to each piece we create. If this particular piece is still available, you can view it here. Enjoy!
